Just an Idea

An idea,
melded from many coming before.
Just an idea,
growing to include all,
standing the test of hate and exclusion,
but vulnerable to toxic forces,
were they given life.

An idea,
an imperfect document seeking perfection,
a shining torch,
a beacon for refuge,
outlasting those who gave it life,
struggling to outlast those who'd destroy it.

About Christina Anne Hawthorne

Alive and well in the Rocky Mountains. I'm a fantasy writer who also dabbles in poetry, short stories, and map making. My Ontyre tales are an alternative fantasy experience, the stories rich in mystery, adventure, and romance. Alternative fantasy? Not quite steampunk. Not quite gothic. In truth, the real magic is in those who discover what's within.
