Christina Anne Hawthorne
Christina Anne Hawthorne
Alive and well in the Rocky Mountains. I'm a fantasy writer who also dabbles in poetry, short stories, and map making. My Ontyre tales are an alternative fantasy experience, the stories rich in mystery, adventure, and romance. Alternative fantasy? Not quite steampunk. Not quite gothic. In truth, the real magic is in those who discover what's within.

One by One
Her journey, taken alone, the haters screaming, others deserting, condemning, threatening, those promising support fading away, each one blinking out one by one. Maybe, just maybe, the fear was a blessing in fisted disguise, a caution, warning, inspiration to escape … Continue reading

Who She Ought to Be
The past was rife with shadows, ghosts waiting to claim her soul, baying wolves, their howls chasing her future, anticipating the kill. She ran through the forest, less fleeing from, more seeking the self beckoning, the self she ought to … Continue reading

Come the Twilight
She was but a star languishing in the heavens, shrinking in luster everlasting. Time lost was a lifetime existing, time ahead was for embracing her dreams. Tired minds couldn’t see the joy that was yearning, of embracing gifts long held … Continue reading

After Dream
A spell she knew well lingered as spring perfume in the aftermath of insight. It wafted in the glade of self, her secluded place, her after-dream, where her truth wasn’t what it seemed. Walking in the stream’s course was a … Continue reading

The Way Home
In a storm of infinite chaos, she was who she was, but didn’t know who she was. She knew honesty, knew the truth. She wasn’t being honest with herself. Beneath the intimate fears, she knew she was a she, a … Continue reading
Effervescence
She dared to open the light, truth and effervescence mixing within, propelling her to an enlightened place, arms out wide in a meadow of knowing learning about self-discovery. She was outside herself, yet deep inside. She twirled, self-acceptance awaiting the … Continue reading

The Gifting
It was her spirit, she could hear it, calling to her from a place deep inside, begging her not to hide, begging her to open her soul to the world. It was a gifting, her heart lifting, finding love in … Continue reading

Transcending
She tried to hide, tried to be that peg for every hole, denying her heart, her soul, her truth. Templates were lies, erasing expression, erasing her life, when all she wanted was to be the true self within. True freedom … Continue reading

Drawn Straight from Her Soul
The plummet, she decided, was a matter of inevitability. The truth of it, personal, and not for the reasons they claimed were true. Her fall was purposeful, having had enough of the material things they demanded she chase, the cost … Continue reading

In a Room Meant for One
In a room meant for one, the storm within shared space with dysphoria, the face looking back not her own. In a room holding two, other thoughts wrestled her own, the other voice accepted by those who didn’t know the … Continue reading
