Christina Anne Hawthorne
Alive and well in the Rocky Mountains. I'm a fantasy writer who also dabbles in poetry, short stories, and map making. My Ontyre tales are an alternative fantasy experience, the stories rich in mystery, adventure, and romance. Alternative fantasy? Not quite steampunk. Not quite gothic. In truth, the real magic is in those who discover what's within.

NaNoWriMo Success – Some Pointers
This is my annual post to help those participating in NaNoWriMo and who — this part is critical — truly want to finish. To me, the win is the accomplishment. When I say that, I less mean the ending number … Continue reading
My Writing Fuel
Here I am on the other side of having accomplished what I’d had doubts I’d be able to do. I drafted the last two books in the Carrdia series back-to-back. I also did it in less time than I’d allotted. … Continue reading
Post #NaNoWriMo, Pre Finishing
Closer. Ever closer. That’s where I am in the last book of the Carrdia series. There’s a good chance I’ll reach the end by the time I post again. So, mid month, which was my hope. You know, so I … Continue reading
#NaNoWriMo Ending – Resolve
It’s my sincere hope that everyone met their personal goals during NaNoWriMo. It’s my further hope you continue, that you finish the draft, and one day revise it. NaNo is but the beginning of the beginning. If you didn’t win, … Continue reading
#NaNoWriMo Week 4 – Thankful
Sometimes the stars align. That alone is reason for me to be thankful. Two novels. Two months. I’m tired, I’m weary, and still enthused, still grateful for my creativity. Yes, stars will align on November 25th 2021, the day I … Continue reading
#NaNoWriMo Week 3 – Magnification
It’s true. Experience is invaluable, and never has that been more true for me than right now. I’m currently deep into an adventure that goes far beyond NaNo. Over the last seven years I’ve learned how much I was capable … Continue reading
#NaNoWriMo Week 2 – Truths
For many, this is the infamous second week during NaNoWriMo when many drop out. Please don’t. This blog, though, is about my thoughts during my second week. I’m far ahead of where I’d hoped to be and don’t have any … Continue reading
#NaNoWriMo – A Week 1 Contrast
Well, we’re just a few days into NaNoWriMo 2021. My start, like many, has been strong as I’ve ridden the opening-week adrenaline. Caffeine, too. The beginning of the beginning, for me, always starts with a tradition that also serves as … Continue reading
What Is And Will Always Be The Goal – A NaNo Pep Talk
This is my last blog post before I enter the wilds of NaNoWriMo and beyond. It’s also always a good time to have a heart-to-heart with myself, to remind this sometimes insecure writer why I write. During NaNo I’ll still … Continue reading
On the Road to #NaNoWriMo
If any of you are doing NaNo this year I hope you’re checking your calendar because it’s close. Even if you don’t do writing prep, I hope you’re churning ideas in your mind, especially that opening scene. It’s best if … Continue reading
