Christina Anne Hawthorne
Christina Anne Hawthorne
Alive and well in the Rocky Mountains. I'm a fantasy writer who also dabbles in poetry, short stories, and map making. My Ontyre tales are an alternative fantasy experience, the stories rich in mystery, adventure, and romance. Alternative fantasy? Not quite steampunk. Not quite gothic. In truth, the real magic is in those who discover what's within.

The Fabric
Cross-legged on the floor, she quieted her mind, sought the fabric that was existence, that was the entirety of life. She was unique, gifted with meaning and purpose, bestowed with the knowledge she could create her future one act at … Continue reading

Don’t be Held Hostage, Be Aware
Actually, the full line is, “Don’t be held hostage by your past.” At the moment, I’m struggling, but I also know I’ll prevail because I’m aware and have a plan. That knowledge is my advantage over what spring causes. Yes, … Continue reading
Waves
Waves descending, crashing as darkness on her mind, as despair, an unwanted episode she wouldn’t tolerate, not again, not ever again, not if she could help it, and oh how she could help it. Waves approaching, promising stillness, whispering peace, … Continue reading

Shadow Horizon
In the interest of clarity she wrapped her mind around a thought, her consciousness finding the light in her mind’s eye. With her next breath she found air, an inhale unheard, bringing life, held ever so gently before the exhale. … Continue reading

Anger Undone
It burst forth, molten hot. Anger! Every hurt. Every cruelty inflicted. Each time she was abandoned. In its wake, a question. Whispering waves. What was she doing? Reliving the past was letting them hurt her forever. The tears dried. She … Continue reading

In This Moment
In this moment, no past, no future, no needs to meet, nor tasks to complete. There’s now, this space, this place, existing between the headwind and the breeze at your back. The air moving in and out, your lungs expanding, … Continue reading

Ghost of Creation
It’d tried to take her in those long ago days, tried to end her life. She’d kept breathing, endured. Was she alive? She wondered sometimes, heard tales of the dying while she lived, thrived alone, created. There was damage, but … Continue reading

Ink
Tomorrow place, forever land, a world of ink meant for pages, trauma transformed in meditation, what was once pain at last a hurt that passes through, a wound repurposed. Not a past rewritten, but a new perspective, tales for hearts … Continue reading

Shades of Timeless
Shades of thoughts raining, settling as glistening behind the chaos, within her mind, connected to her spirit, to her soul. Breaths in and out, but none she could recall, the moment timeless because there was no moment at all. Thoughts … Continue reading

Patience
Her pesky brain, it was playing its tricks, cluttering her mind with thoughts. An inner breeze swept them away, but as was the way, more came. She’d not cling, not shove aside, but instead let them fade… In the stillness … Continue reading
