Christina Anne Hawthorne
Christina Anne Hawthorne
Alive and well in the Rocky Mountains. I'm a fantasy writer who also dabbles in poetry, short stories, and map making. My Ontyre tales are an alternative fantasy experience, the stories rich in mystery, adventure, and romance. Alternative fantasy? Not quite steampunk. Not quite gothic. In truth, the real magic is in those who discover what's within.

The Me I’m Supposed to Be
This isn’t the post I planned to write. Instead, at the last minute, I changed it. My apologies if it borders on a rant, but in truth, it’s a pep talk for any of you out there who’re in any … Continue reading

So Much More
Deep within, she held love close, and devotion, coupling them with tenderness, and kindness, and passion. They were there for the taking because she was willing to give, her hand outstretched, palm raised, awaiting another. Surely she was someone, seen … Continue reading

Her Love
Looking glass lies burned her eyes, lies she’d deny no more. She recognized the stalking thoughts, what they implied, what they said, how hatred filled their stares, threatening love, her love. Love was love and nothing less, so let them … Continue reading

Humanity’s Growth
One, a word, also a number that even if multiplied, it only grows through addition, one joining with another and another like a sentence of seven words lengthening. The one becomes something more than it began, becomes a handful, a … Continue reading

Rare Embrace
Clock ticking, she can hear it, there’s clicking, her heels on the pavement as she runs away from herself. It shouldn’t be possible while standing still, when the pain she’s holding is immeasurable. Where to run when ghosts are everywhere? … Continue reading

When She Was Gone
“Who can I be? I can be me.” So simple a phrase, full of hopes, full of dreams and possibilities. What, in the end, would that mean? It’d mean an honest life, rich with gratitude, being remembered, not for anger, … Continue reading

Lifeforce
On her knees begging for acceptance, her heart’s depth her nakedness, the essence possessed was her lifeforce laid bare. Learning two reactions, those who turned away, those who faded, fading took time, the scars left behind draining her soul. Oh … Continue reading

Echo
She was but a sound, a melody within, harmony in the air, gentle words to settle, a whispered song, a subtle vibration. Through space and time her feminine compassion sought a neglected wall, not to block her potential, but to … Continue reading

Her Course
Was life to mean fighting a current pulling her down, or sailing, her destination her own? Too often whispers declared her course erroneous, said she was deficient for being herself in peace. Peacefulness and kindness, though, opened the future wide, … Continue reading

Her Eyes
What if others could see what she could see, beyond the hatred, and the cruelty, to the kindness, the love that was possible for all, for everyone. If, if only they could see a world made right, then maybe a … Continue reading
