Christina Anne Hawthorne
Christina Anne Hawthorne
Alive and well in the Rocky Mountains. I'm a fantasy writer who also dabbles in poetry, short stories, and map making. My Ontyre tales are an alternative fantasy experience, the stories rich in mystery, adventure, and romance. Alternative fantasy? Not quite steampunk. Not quite gothic. In truth, the real magic is in those who discover what's within.

This is the goals post I’d hoped I’d never have to write, but here I am and here it is. That sounds awful, but in the end it’s all positive. No, I’m not giving up writing, but I am facing … Continue reading
Where Snow Angels Hadn’t Yet Tread
Sparkling on the snow of another morning’s light were crystals of hope awaiting her hand to hold. She knelt in the white where snow angels hadn’t yet tread and grasped the life opportunity she thought she’d lost. Breathing in the … Continue reading

Determined Hope
To paraphrase the legendary Tina Turner, “What’s hope got to do with it?” Everything. Life experience has taught me that. In some circles, hope is simply optimism, a belief in a positive outcome. My view is a certainty that, if … Continue reading
The Frayed Line
Confusion, torment, soul bowed, ice falling as rain, drizzling eyes, they shimmered as streetlights on the pavement. Where to go when there was nowhere to go? Who to trust when trusting was dying before it could be said there was … Continue reading

For Someone
Somewhere in the world, distant though they might be, was someone waiting? She wondered sometimes. Could it be someone needed the story only she could tell? Their trust guided, held her tight, ever more so when times were hard, when … Continue reading

The Promise
Another slumber, disquieting and a little somber, no details lingering, yet, her heart lifted anyway, for stirring deep within was the promise, the one made so very long ago, the purpose she couldn’t let go, the purpose she couldn’t forget, … Continue reading

Her Eyes
What if others could see what she could see, beyond the hatred, and the cruelty, to the kindness, the love that was possible for all, for everyone. If, if only they could see a world made right, then maybe a … Continue reading

Writing Hope
Tears on a page, her eyes resting, having found peace. Was there anyone, in a world embracing shadows, who desired hopeful words? Wasn’t it the age with an insatiable thirst for hopelessness? Maybe, the story told her, that was her … Continue reading

Safe in Her Heart
Marveling, as they were, they asked to see it. Fragile, as it was, she held it with two hands. Asking, as they did, they wished to know. Answering, as she must, she shared the truth. Hope, it did seem, was … Continue reading
