Exiting the Wheel

A moment to cherish,
time awareness
when it's needed most,
the present moment
as welcome as what came before.

In this future
advancing beyond,
a step towards falling behind,
wondering in our panic
why can't we move a little faster?

Present moment awareness,
not limitations and constraints
upon a mind seeking control,
becomes slowing each step
to exit a wheel moving too fast.

About Christina Anne Hawthorne

Alive and well in the Rocky Mountains. I'm a fantasy writer who also dabbles in poetry, short stories, and map making. My Ontyre tales are an alternative fantasy experience, the stories rich in mystery, adventure, and romance. Alternative fantasy? Not quite steampunk. Not quite gothic. In truth, the real magic is in those who discover what's within.
