Writer’s Key

conscious door
slamming closed
the lock beyond her grasp
blocking her mind
the answers sought
hidden on the other side

lost key
her panic seeking
chasing unsettled hands
racing thoughts out of her mind
the thought so close
threatening to die

locked inspiration
dying in time
walking her mind in desperation
distracted air eased her breathing
stopped her frenzy
the key appearing
