She Was Her Mind

Choirs whispered in her ears
urging her to listen to the strength inside,
to act through the tears,
"Believe,"
they said,
"and the world is yours to conjure,
for you are your mind."

Possibilities played on her fingertips,
the urge to reach for her dreams strong,
the words finding her lips,
"I believe,"
she said,
and her true self came to life,
for she was one of a kind.

About Christina Anne Hawthorne

Alive and well in the Rocky Mountains. I'm a fantasy writer who also dabbles in poetry, short stories, and map making. My Ontyre tales are an alternative fantasy experience, the stories rich in mystery, adventure, and romance. Alternative fantasy? Not quite steampunk. Not quite gothic. In truth, the real magic is in those who discover what's within.
