Dear Fingers

Her fingers,
she wondered,
what story were they typing?
It certainly wasn't the one
her head was thinking.

What was up
with pesky ring fingers
dancing for joy on keys,
creating character strings
and doing so with glee?

Why oh why
must fingers substitute
their favorite words,
her discovering their treachery
as her eyes discerned?

"Dear fingers,"
she wrote,
"please try to be good,"
but, of course, it read,
"please try to be goooo."

About Christina Anne Hawthorne

Alive and well in the Rocky Mountains. I'm a fantasy writer who also dabbles in poetry, short stories, and map making. My Ontyre tales are an alternative fantasy experience, the stories rich in mystery, adventure, and romance. Alternative fantasy? Not quite steampunk. Not quite gothic. In truth, the real magic is in those who discover what's within.
