Humanity’s Growth

One,
a word,
also a number
that even if multiplied,
it only grows through addition,
one joining with another and another
like a sentence of seven words lengthening.
The one becomes something more than it began,
becomes a handful, a multitude, or even a movement
demanding change in the name of either hatred or compassion.
Only
one
choice
is
a
healthy
tree
growing
branches
for
everyone.

About Christina Anne Hawthorne

Alive and well in the Rocky Mountains. I'm a fantasy writer who also dabbles in poetry, short stories, and map making. My Ontyre tales are an alternative fantasy experience, the stories rich in mystery, adventure, and romance. Alternative fantasy? Not quite steampunk. Not quite gothic. In truth, the real magic is in those who discover what's within.
