The Vampire Blues

No tanning on the beach
or I'm ashes on the news.
Undead, gotta get a life,
I've got the vampire blues.

No skipping down the street
on a sunny afternoon.
No pulling up stakes
after they've run me through.

Missing the days of red sauce
that's not blood typed.
Hungering for pizza,
but the garlic's got bite.

Looking ghostly without a mirror
… what's a dead girl to do?
No one cares that I'm batty,
yeah, I got the vampire blues.

About Christina Anne Hawthorne

Alive and well in the Rocky Mountains. I'm a fantasy writer who also dabbles in poetry, short stories, and map making. My Ontyre tales are an alternative fantasy experience, the stories rich in mystery, adventure, and romance. Alternative fantasy? Not quite steampunk. Not quite gothic. In truth, the real magic is in those who discover what's within.
