Who She’d Be

They told her
she'd never be good enough,
that her worthiness
qualified her
for nothing.

They judged,
seeing her like the world,
through their hatred,
insisting in whispers,
she was less than human.

Who would she be,
if being her was good enough?
Who would she be,
if she found her own path
and left them behind?

About Christina Anne Hawthorne

Alive and well in the Rocky Mountains. I'm a fantasy writer who also dabbles in poetry, short stories, and map making. My Ontyre tales are an alternative fantasy experience, the stories rich in mystery, adventure, and romance. Alternative fantasy? Not quite steampunk. Not quite gothic. In truth, the real magic is in those who discover what's within.
