The plummet, she decided, was a matter of inevitability. The truth of it, personal, and not for the reasons they claimed were true. Her fall was purposeful, having had enough of the material things they demanded she chase, the cost drawn straight from her soul. Meaning was deemed too expensive, though exhaustion was free. Invaluable, though, was life begging her to awaken. And so she did. ©July 2021 Christina Anne Hawthorne

Alive and well in the Rocky Mountains. I'm a fantasy writer who also dabbles in poetry, short stories, and map making. My Ontyre tales are an alternative fantasy experience, the stories rich in mystery, adventure, and romance. Alternative fantasy? Not quite steampunk. Not quite gothic. In truth, the real magic is in those who discover what's within.
