The Creature from the Black Linguine

The Creature from the Black Linguine,
an old movie she once did see.
Oh, wait, that wasn't the name,
just kinda sorta sounded the same.

It came to her while she planned her meal,
a daily event lacking thrills.
Thinking of water and creepy creatures
swimming about in 50s features.

Italian lizard people eating black linguine,
an epic moment among restaurant scenes.
Images of lizard lips and pasta sauce
filled her head till she cooked some, of course.

About Christina Anne Hawthorne

Alive and well in the Rocky Mountains. I'm a fantasy writer who also dabbles in poetry, short stories, and map making. My Ontyre tales are an alternative fantasy experience, the stories rich in mystery, adventure, and romance. Alternative fantasy? Not quite steampunk. Not quite gothic. In truth, the real magic is in those who discover what's within.

Yes, there is, though I’ve never tried it!
A shower’s not the best place for brilliant creative new ideas, but very atmospheric for inspiring this particular poem!
