Caught Between

Push and pull,
caught in the middle,
growing up too fast
and not growing up at all.

She wanted to hide,
to cry in silence.
She wanted to scream,
let them know why.

It made no sense
wanting to die,
yet longing for love
and yearning to thrive.

So many others
oblivious to their oblivion,
if she shone her light
might they awaken too?

About Christina Anne Hawthorne

Alive and well in the Rocky Mountains. I'm a fantasy writer who also dabbles in poetry, short stories, and map making. My Ontyre tales are an alternative fantasy experience, the stories rich in mystery, adventure, and romance. Alternative fantasy? Not quite steampunk. Not quite gothic. In truth, the real magic is in those who discover what's within.

    Incredible! I had to read this several times to soak in each and every word that spoke to me.
