A Place So Vast

Born into herself,
a self unaccepting,
she built walls
for her own protection,
but seeing beyond
she couldn't do,
her safe place a lonely place
until she became new.

The new was the old,
without self-infliction,
the life within
no longer conflicted,
instead of trapped,
she was free,
a vast and open place
to be.

About Christina Anne Hawthorne

Alive and well in the Rocky Mountains. I'm a fantasy writer who also dabbles in poetry, short stories, and map making. My Ontyre tales are an alternative fantasy experience, the stories rich in mystery, adventure, and romance. Alternative fantasy? Not quite steampunk. Not quite gothic. In truth, the real magic is in those who discover what's within.
