Stepping Stones to Chaos

Another moment of silence
following more senselessness to abhor,
etching more stones in grieving,
hearing more answers we’ll ignore.

Outrage over trivialities,
apathy when victims die,
walking the stepping stones to chaos
while too few wonder why.

There’s no end to the tolerance,
a cup that should’ve run over,
but the cup that keeps filling
is instead a colander.

About Christina Anne Hawthorne

Alive and well in the Rocky Mountains. I'm a fantasy writer who also dabbles in poetry, short stories, and map making. My Ontyre tales are an alternative fantasy experience, the stories rich in mystery, adventure, and romance. Alternative fantasy? Not quite steampunk. Not quite gothic. In truth, the real magic is in those who discover what's within.
