In Memory

In that moment so brief in our lives
my heart thawed because you found my light.
I wanted to embrace you,
but darkness fell and we passed out of sight.

New paths carried us in opposing directions,
taking us farther from what could have been.
Funny how what wasn’t meant to be,
is what will haunt me until the end.

About Christina Anne Hawthorne

Alive and well in the Rocky Mountains. I'm a fantasy writer who also dabbles in poetry, short stories, and map making. My Ontyre tales are an alternative fantasy experience, the stories rich in mystery, adventure, and romance. Alternative fantasy? Not quite steampunk. Not quite gothic. In truth, the real magic is in those who discover what's within.
