I’ve struggled to recover,
fighting a system unable to see
beyond the path they see for me.

Their neural roads can’t envision
someone like me
choosing the path I please.

And choose I will…I must,
not to survive,
but to grow, to create, to thrive…

That said, I’m given pause
and must reappraise
this war for my soul I’m forced to wage.

For those in opposition
aren’t stopping my efforts dead,
but instead, in the end,
making me stronger.

About Ontyre Passages

Alive and well in the Rocky Mountains. I'm a fantasy writer who also dabbles in poetry, short stories, and map making. My Ontyre tales are an alternative fantasy experience, the stories rich in mystery, adventure, and romance. Alternative fantasy? Not quite steampunk. Not quite gothic. In truth, the real magic is in those who discover what's within.
