I Eat You

I’m excited to introduce my first guest to Ontyre Passages. Misha (she just goes by the one name), is known in feline circles as a premier poet. Much of her work has already been shared behind some of the most prestigious establishments across the country. Off Broadway she’s best known for her one-cat show, Regurgitation Improvisation.

Misha, cat poet.

Misha, cat poet.

Her poetry, sometimes raw and other times sublime, always touches upon the deeper issues facing cats.

I EAT YOU

bird

awing

settle in the garden

amidst blooms

I EAT YOU

and then cough you up on the carpet

mouse

scurry

explore the yard

seeking food

I EAT YOU

and then cough you up on the carpet

moth

flitter

circle the light

land on the wall

I EAT YOU

and then cough you up on the carpet

spider

hider

spinning your webs

hanging there

I EAT YOU

and then cough you up on the carpet

About Ontyre Passages

Alive and well in the Rocky Mountains. I'm a fantasy writer who also dabbles in poetry, short stories, and map making. My Ontyre tales are an alternative fantasy experience, the stories rich in mystery, adventure, and romance. Alternative fantasy? Not quite steampunk. Not quite gothic. In truth, the real magic is in those who discover what's within.

  1. I have three cats and I love this poem and try and scoop them up and put them outside before they paint my carpets.

    • Thanks. If someone has a cat then the cat is coughing up something on the carpet. Misha’s favorite is moths. I also try to avoid cat food that doesn’t have dies in it. Some of the available foods are terrible for that. You might as well pour red paint on the rug.

    I love this….I have cats too, I understand! 🙂
